From 23rd to 26th May 2016 the THREATS Consortium organized a THREATS Event at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milano. The Event included:

1) THREATS Conference: discussing the response to the attacks in Paris in November 2015, looking at different aspects of preparedness and resilience for hospitals against terrorist attacks and summarising the results of the THREATS project.

2) MRMI Course as system to increase the preparedness of the Health Sector to respond to an emergency event.

3) THREATS Exercise: the simulation of one of the THREATS Scenarios - Second strike terrorist attack against one of the hospitals engaged in managing casualties from a previous external attacks – and application of the THREATS toolkit to the hospital and evaluation of its response.


A very successful THREATS event was held at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan on 25th June 2015. The conference discussed the question “Terrorist Attacks on Hospitals: are we ready?” The programme examined trends in terrorism, explored how hospitals could be a potential target for terrorists, considered real-life experiences and reflected on how hospitals can be prepared.


The project started on 1st July 2014 and our kick off meeting was held in Teddington on 15th and 16th July 2014.


The mid-term meeting was held in Amsterdam on 12th May 2015.
